The Beginning of Growing Your Marriage
Upon my retiring as Executive Director of Barren Heights, life changed. Joe and I began focusing more on marriage ministry and building a small farm near Barren Heights Retreat. Cultivating the land has been both challenging and fun. Through the dirt, sweat, and sore muscles we have learned lots, cried occasionally and smiled often. Some days we can laugh at our mistakes but on other days we cannot. Through the toil, a beautiful sunset and the sweetness of a blueberry have gained new meaning.
Working in tandem, we have discovered many parallels between growing a crop and growing a marriage. In farming and marriage there is great work and even greater reward. Joe and I have led the Marriage Team at Barren Heights for 15 years and for the last 8 years have become students of marriage. As a result our relationship has blossomed. It is a joy to be married to my best friend and to feel connected spiritually and emotionally. Our hope is that you and your spouse will commit to growing YOUR marriage.
